Hi, I'm Natalie Rae.

I am the face and photographer behind Rae of Sunlight Photography. I am a wife, mom, and part time NICU nurse. For as long as I can remember, I've loved taking pictures. I was the kid with the throw-away camera in everyone's face. I never dreamed of actually becoming a photographer professionally until 2017 when our son, Jake, was born with a congenital birth defect. Unable to work much as a NICU nurse, and not being able to sit well at home, my family bought me my first camera and told me to make this dream come true too. Five years later and I'm living proof to always follow your heart, and to never give up on your dreams.

Photographs are extremely important to me. They are a tangible piece of your history. I want to capture your family in the way, and with the importance of how I capture my own. I like to say, that I see light. It's why I feel I excel at photography. I can see light in a different way. I've been able to take my love of photography and pair it with my ability to see light, and my love of emotional storytelling, and relationships, to capture your families cherished memories.
